On Wednesday, December 18, 2022, the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir held the activities of the Scientific Conference for the year 1444 AH in the College’s Engineering Club hall, under the auspices of His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad bin Masoud Al Haider, and in the presence of the club president, Dr. Ziyad Al-Halawani, and an arbitration committee consisting of Dr. Muhammad Abdel Aal and Dr. Youssef Darakeh, in the presence of a variety of university students.
The forum began with a welcome speech from the President of the Engineering Club, followed by an explanation of the idea of the scientific forum, its themes and the items of each theme in it, followed by an introduction to the students participating in the forum from the college and a presentation of the themes in which they participated.
The beginning was with a presentation by the student / Abdul Majeed Al-Qahtani on the axis of innovation and invention of the project (Design of a Photovoltaic-Powered Desalination System using HOMER software), which serves water desalination projects in Wadi Al-Dawasir using solar energy and the lowest possible cost, followed by the student / Abdullah Nihad with a presentation of the idea of the movie (Al-Dunya). Rotary) for the category of promoting Islamic values and national identity (films), and a simplified explanation of the story of the film and its characters and its connection with the idea of integrity in work and its impact on the individual in the future, and the conclusion of the project presentation was by the student / Osama Abdel Qader in (Diyar Project) for the category of sustainable development and economic diversification ( pilot projects), and the project aims to provide a suitable housing environment for the university community in all its categories, at a competitive cost.
During that, the members of the committee expressed their views after each project by presenting an accurate evaluation that clarified the strengths and advantages of each project and the points in which the projects need support and reinforcement.
In conclusion, the club president thanked the university administration and the college for supporting the creativity and creators of the university in all its branches. He also thanked the members of the jury for providing their practical experiences to the participants. He also expressed his pride in the participating students from the college and his promise to provide them with full support with all the tools and cadres of the college.
