The Alumni Unit at the College of Engineering, Wadi Al-Dawasir, organized the College’s Second Annual Alumni Gathering on the morning of Monday, May 18, 2026, at the VIP Hall in the University’s main campus in Wadi Al-Dawasir. The event was held as part of the College’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communication with its alumni and fostering lasting professional and academic relationships between the College and its graduates.
The alumni were welcomed by the Supervisor of the Alumni Unit in the presence of the Dean of the College, the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs, the Heads of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Departments, several faculty members, members of the Alumni Unit, and administrative staff.
The event began with a welcoming address delivered by the Dean of the College, who warmly greeted alumni from the graduating classes of 2018 through 2025, as well as students expected to graduate during the current semester. He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in strengthening the bond between the College and its alumni, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting sustainable communication. He also praised the attendees for their active participation and engagement throughout the event.
The Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs also delivered a speech highlighting the objectives and significance of the gathering in building stronger connections between the College and its alumni. He noted that a development plan has been prepared for future alumni meetings to enhance their effectiveness and further strengthen integration between alumni, the College, and the labor market.
The gathering featured an open discussion session during which alumni shared their views, feedback, and suggestions for improving future events, reflecting their professional and academic aspirations and helping the College better address their evolving needs.
One of the event’s most engaging segments was led by the Supervisor of the Alumni Unit, who invited alumni to introduce themselves, share their career paths and areas of specialization, and speak about their professional experiences. Prospective graduates greatly benefited from the practical advice and valuable insights offered by alumni, creating an inspiring atmosphere of collaboration and knowledge exchange across different graduating generations.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the College and the Vice Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the participating alumni in recognition of their attendance and continued engagement with the College. The ceremony also celebrated the students graduating this semester in an atmosphere filled with pride and heartfelt wishes for their continued success in both their professional careers and future academic pursuits.
