Lab Location:
Ground Floor, Room No. B-2-42.
Lab Description:
In the Automatic Control Systems Laboratory, students can learn how to use MATLAB to simulate open and closed-loop systems. They can also learn closed-loop performance with various controller configurations such as Proportional-Integral-Derivative (P-I-D). Practical aspects of the control technique are presented to analyze the concepts of the transient and steady-state response of a system in terms of rise time, overshoot, settling time, etc. Then, they will learn how to design a suitable PID controller for electrical systems such as temperature, DC motor, and servo position control. After that, the hardware and software of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) are introduced. Students will acquire knowledge of the fundamentals of PLC programming and learn how to write programs to control other systems.
