Introduction
There is no doubt that scientific research is the locomotive of progress and development for nations. The results of research in all fields were and still contribute, whether directly or indirectly, to the prosperity of human life. Among these fields, which have had a direct impact on the growth and prosperity of human life, is the field of research in the various engineering and technological branches. Since the scientific research plans for scientific and educational institutions must be in-line with the strategic plans of the nation, it was necessary that the fields of research must include modern engineering branches such as communications and electronics, artificial intelligence, clean and renewable energy, nanotechnology, water desalination, etc....
From this point of view, the Scientific Research Unit under the umbrella of the Vice Dean for Development and Quality at the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir was established in order to be one of the development tools of the college, not only in the field of developing the research capabilities of faculty members, but also helping them to be promoted to higher grades.
Scientific Research Unit Duties
To achieve the desired goal of the Scientific Research Unit, the committee has identified a work strategy during the coming period, which includes three main duties:
- Introducing the members of the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir to the various programs of the Deanship of Scientific Research by giving short seminars on a regular basis.
- Developing the skills of faculty members at the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir to conduct distinguished scientific research for publication in prestigious international journals, through periodic seminars at a rate of 2 seminars per month.
- Introducing the faculty members of the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir to the rules for promoting their happiness to higher grades, through periodic seminars at a rate of 2 seminars per month.
Prizes
Since the establishment of the college, one of the main targets is to increase the number of scientific research published in distinguished international journals. This is supported by the fact that some members of the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir have received many research awards, not only at the PSAU level but also internationally.
