Mission
The E-Learning and Distance Learning Unit seeks to develop the educational process in order to achieve quality standards.
Goals
The e-learning unit aims to improve and develop the educational process in the college using strategies and methods supported by modern technology. The unit also seeks, through coordination with the relevant authorities, to achieve the following objectives:
- Improving the quality of education by providing additional teaching methods, based on e-learning technologies.
- Developing students' skills and ability to interact with the changes of the times through modern technologies.
- Converting college courses to electronic courses.
- Raising the skill of faculty members in preparing electronic courses.
- Serving the educational and research process in the college.
- Providing the necessary training courses and workshops to serve e-learning.
- Exchange of experiences through e-learning media.
- Providing students with the necessary skills to use communication and information technologies.
- Expanding e-learning to serve the community.
Tasks
- Training students to deal with the e-learning system (Blackboard).
- Develop plans related to e-learning in the college and follow up on their implementation.
- Work to raise the level of readiness of the e-learning unit to provide the necessary support to members.
- Providing consultations to the college and faculty members in the optimal activation and correct practices in e-learning.
- Spreading the culture of e-learning among faculty members and students.
- Encourage teaching and e-learning practices.
- Coordination with the Deanship of Information Technology and Distance Education regarding the training need in the field of e-learning.
- Continuous communication and attendance of periodic meetings.
- Provide support to faculty members in the college regarding the learning management system and supporting systems.
- Dealing with network problems and making recommendations to improve the college's IT system.
- Follow-up and submit the necessary reports in the field of e-learning practices.
- Receiving suggestions from faculty members.
- Work as a link between the college and the Deanship of Information Technology and Distance Education to solve all the technical malfunctions facing the faculty member in the college.
- Continuous follow-up of faculty members to download educational content on the Blackboard system.
- Preparing periodic reports and statistics for the college for each semester.
Achievements
- The committee has written a proposal for e-learning explaining the vision, mission and objectives of e-learning.
- Develop a plan to provide students with diverse and multiple educational resources and encourage them to use learning platforms such as coursera and Udemy
- Develop a plan for workshops for faculty members on how to use e-learning technologies and e-learning platforms.
- Preparing for a workshop for faculty members entitled (How to make a professional educational video).
- Proposing the development of a mechanism to record the lectures of faculty members wishing to record lectures and upload them to the college's YouTube channel.
