The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir, represented by Dr. Obaid Al-Dossary, head of the department, held a ceremony honoring the Vice Dean for Development and Quality, Dr. Saud Mubarak Al-Hajjaj, on Thursday, 10/21/2021 AD, on the occasion of obtaining a patent from the US Patent Office. The patent revolves around systems and methods for predicting path loss of communication strength in the fifth generation (5G) using artificial intelligence techniques to contribute to reducing the time effort and financial burden while reducing the engineering complexity to match the development in modern technologies. Dr. Saud gave a presentation on the patent as well as how to apply for patents. Dr. Muhammad Masoud Al-Haider, Dean of the College of Engineering, urged faculty members to apply for patents.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Saud holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northern Ohio University, Ohio, USA, a Master's degree from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, Florida, United States of America. His research interest is focused on 5G technologies and their development using artificial intelligence.
