Introducing the Academic Advising Committee:
It is the committee entrusted with guiding and following up students during their studies by creating psychological, social and academic aspects that help them adapt and adapt to the university environment.
The committee provides guidance, guidance, advice and assistance so that the student understands the mission and objectives of the college, as well as providing the appropriate atmosphere for students so that they can discover their abilities, tendencies and skills so that they reach their goals that they aspire to reach.

Objectives of the Academic Advising Unit:
1. Establishing the culture of academic advising and all its axes for the College of Engineering.
2. Spreading the culture of academic guidance among all college employees.
3. Providing support and follow-up to the academic advising units in the departments of the college.
4. Preparing and guiding new students to adapt to university life.
5. Introducing students and those in charge of the counseling process to the university's rules, regulations and instructions.
6. Providing support to all students to help them improve their achievement and academic level.
7. Help students determine their academic and professional tendencies and trends.
8. Provide diverse reinforcement to gifted, outstanding and distinguished students.
9. Provide academic guidance to struggling students to help them overcome the difficulties they face.
10. Motivating departments to achieve a distinguished level in the efforts of their academic advising units.
Academic advisor skills:
1.Familiarity with the dates of registration of materials, deletion, addition and change of divisions in accordance with the statutory procedures.
2. Familiarity with the academic systems at the university and the department's plan and specializations.
3. To strive to educate himself in the field of counseling so that he can benefit students. Each mentor is required to take a course on counseling and ways to deal with students and their problems.
4. Familiarity with the vocabulary of the study plan (levels, specializations, basic and optional subjects) and introducing the student to this.
5. Familiarity with the names of subjects, their numbers, requirements, equivalent materials and sequences, and guide students on the best ways to benefit from them.
6. Time management and investment skill: It is an important skill that includes scheduling and coordinating work, and determining the time plan for the work of the mentor, which includes the dates of registration, deletion, addition, scheduling and organizing office hours through which students can meet with the mentor.
7. Leadership skill: By this skill, we mean forming a positive relationship with students to influence them and help them move towards achieving the set goals.
Tasks and duties of the academic advisor.
1. Directing the student to achieve the highest desired benefit from the specialization he has chosen at the academic, skill, sports and health levels and introducing him to the various facilities of the college.
2. Guiding the student on how to benefit from the summer semesters and implement projects and study plans.
3. Implementation of awareness programs (lectures and seminars) in cooperation with student volunteers to serve their colleagues and develop their organizational skills.
4. Helping students with special conditions to overcome their health problems.
5. Reveal the special skills and talents that students have in the hope of refining and developing them better.
6. Participate in the implementation of workshops related to negative phenomena and observations seen in the college and the community in the hope of treating them, such as smoking or inappropriate dress and others.
7. Introducing the student to the various websites associated with the university and college websites, which would benefit him about the news of his college and university and help him inquire about courses, lectures, tests, question and answer forms, faculty members and other information.
8. Monitoring and following up the student's academic progress and making a special file for each student who stumbles or is expected to stumble in order to facilitate follow-up of his condition, in coordination with the Deanship of Admission and Registration to give each advisor access to students' academic information such as the schedule and results of the students of the department who are guided and followed.
9. Planning the counseling process according to guidance tools such as designing questionnaires and applying observation lists and indicative interviews.
10. Urging the student to always review his academic advisor according to the announced office hours.
11. Assisting the student in registering the study hours compatible with his abilities and consistent with the university system in its upper and lower worms and virtual limits.
12. Assist the student in filling out the study forms in the correct way and submitting them on the appropriate dates and making sure that all the required data is filled.
13. Assisting the student and directing him to choose the appropriate courses according to his abilities and inclinations.
14. Providing academic advice and introducing the student to the best courses and the most appropriate alternatives offered.
15. Introducing the new student to the system of courses, levels, transfer, success and failure.
16. Introducing students to the evaluation systems and methods of calculating grades for specialization subjects.
Student Duties:
1. The student should work with his academic advisor to develop a study program with an executive study schedule for what he or she plans to study in subsequent semesters.
2. To call or send electronically to his academic advisor any urgent questions or inquiries, and the academic advisor must provide the student with the office number and the special e-mail.
3. To inform the academic advisor of important changes in his study program that may affect his performance or academic goals.
4. To take responsibility for his academic progress, as advice and guidance is an important tool for success, but above all, the student is primarily responsible for his success.
